| One day while I was busy building my personal website ChristopherWesthoff.com I decided to search my name in Google's Image search. When Google returned the image search results I was pleased to find that the first image result was an image of my artwork the "Modern Mans Motivation Machine". After clicking on the image I was brought to a page by the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. The page was created to show the recipients of the 2003 VFMA Undergraduate Fellowship. The second Google image result was of a man standing at a podium pointing to the left. When I clicked the image link I was brought to the page of The National Association of Clear Water Agencies. Upon scrolling down I found out that the man in the photo is also named Christopher Westhoff and is the Assistant City Attorney for the City of Los Angles, CA. After going back to view the Google image search results, I noticed that the two "Christopher Westhoff" images side by side were visually related. Both of the images were "pointing" to the left, and were of a simular scale. It also appeared that if the images were layered one on top of another that the Christopher Westhoff in the photo would appear to be wearing my artwork the "Modern Mans Motivation Machine" on his head while pointing at the money lure that hangs from it. It then dawned on me that the master image I have of my work the "Modern Mans Motivation Machine" is an image of me wearing the artwork on my head, arm streached, reaching for the money lure. This image is a perfect connector for the other two Google images, so as a result I created the "Christopher Westhoff Google Image Tripdych".
But the story goes on... When I search my name "Christopher Westhoff" in Google the first web result other than my personal web page is an interview with "Skateboarder: Christopher Westhoff", yours truely. This interview was done by my girlfriend at the time, Jennie Thomas. Jennie won a contest for doing the interview and as a result it was posted to the web by TeenInk.com. TeenInk.com has many interviews in their web archive, but there are only two with skateboarders, one is with myself and the other with the skateboard legend, Tony Hawk. Tony Hawk, who I have had the chance to meet on three seprate occasions, is tall and slender, like myself. As a result I have been mistaken for Tony Hawk at numerous skateparks and skating events, In fact my nickname at the skatepark I frequent in Westerville, OH is "Tony Hawk". So now back to Google. The first result of my name on Google image search, as used in the tripdych, is a photo of my artwork the "Modern Mans Motivation Machine". This photo was also taken by Jennie Thomas for my 2003 VMFA fellowship application. So the photo, like the skateboard interview, exists because of her. The next year (2004) Jennie applied for the same $4000 VMFA fellowship and she also was chosen to receive the fellowship! In 2004 I got accepted to attend Graduate School at The Ohio State University. In 2005 I got a phone call from Charlie Roberts, a friend who I studied with at Virginia Commonweath University. He informed me that he too is going to attend Graduate School at The Ohio State University and that he also received the 2005 VMFA fellowship. Charlie ended up becomming my roommate and one of my bestfriends. Jennie was my girlfriend and roommate and is still is one of my bestfriends.
